Daniel J. “Danny” Poolson, Jr. – Attorney

Daniel has worked on “both sides of the aisle,” and started as a defense attorney working for big corporations and large insurance companies until the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Ike, and Gustav, representing the huge insurance companies against homeowners in neighborhoods where he grew up.
He was very unhappy in that role, understanding how the homeowners felt because his family suffered extensive losses in their homes and possessions due to those same hurricanes. He started to understand the genuine heartache and frustration that comes with trying to collect what is rightfully owed to victims by big insurance companies under the most stressful of circumstances.
He knew then, after several years, that his calling was to help people who needed his help because big corporations and insurance companies were not treating them fairly.
Daniel is a graduate of Loyola University New Orleans, College of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court and Member later turned President of the Trial Advocacy Program. Danny has achieved an “AV” rating with Martindale-Hubbell which is the highest ranking attainable by an attorney based on evaluations by other attorneys and judges for the highest level of professional excellence and ethics in the practice of law.
Carisa German-Oden – Attorney
With her extensive litigation and trial experience in both state and federal courts, Carisa has represented injured railroad workers and their families throughout the country.
Before she became a railroad attorney, Carisa worked at a law firm exclusively protecting the rights of railroad workers. In her 17-year legal career, she has only represented injured individuals and railroaders working at a firm designated by the UTU, BLE, and SMART TD unions.
She has experience fighting in front of the Department of Labor and Administrative Law Judges for the rights of railroad workers who face retaliation from the railroad after reporting legitimate personal injuries.

Carisa has appeared pro hac vice in state and federal courts in Alabama, Mississippi, Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, South Carolina, and Florida. Carisa German-Oden tried the first successful case, Nagra v. National R.R. Passenger Corp., Case No. 2012-FRS-74 (10/29/2013), under the new whistleblower FRSA law to return an injured railroad engineer to service after the railroad carrier denied her a return to work physically. This is the first case in the country where this law was used as a sword, preventing the railroad from unilaterally and illegally picking and choosing which employees would be allowed to return to work.
Carisa German-Oden is a native of Colorado, where most of her family still lives, although she has lived in the New Orleans area for the last 20 years. Carisa and her husband Michael have three children, Abigail, Felix, and Sebastian.
"My personal experience with Carisa Oden was fantastic. I couldn’t have picked a better attorney to represent me. I had a 2-year battle with an injury and she was always there for me anytime, day or night, and she was always honest with me about everything. She treated myself and my family with the utmost care and respect. I would recommend her anytime.”

Mike Zachary

Not only is he a great listener, he personally makes himself available to answer questions and provide reassurance to clients and family members whenever needed. For professional standards, Danny sets the bar very high. Next time I need a lawyer, I want Danny on my team."

Dell Pearce
"I would highly recommend the Poolson Law Firm to anyone in need of a great attorney. Danny is very hard working and always wins cases. He is great and always available when I need him. He has personally come with me to make sure things have gotten signed and taken care of. He always answers my calls and emails in a very timely manner."
